Fully funded PhD studentship at the University of Kent in sport and exercise psychology , with a strong interdisciplinary focus on exercise physiology , physical activity behaviour change , and motivation . Project title: From Initiation to Maintenance: The Psychophysiological Mechanisms Underpinning Sustained Physical Activity The project will examine how people stay physically active over the long term, whether laboratory responses to exercise can predict adherence to community-based exercise programmes, and whether these mechanisms can be modified using strategies that support physical activity maintenance. Funding: full tuition fee coverage plus a combined maintenance grant and salary of £21.8k for 2026/27 for 3 years. The studentship also includes fee-paid training in Higher Education teaching via the Associate Fellowship Scheme, supporting development toward a teaching qualification.
