REAL Lab at Northwestern University is seeking a highly motivated postdoc in
Agentic AI
, with a strong emphasis on
LLM agents

multi-agent systems
, and reliable, efficient AI. The lab, led by
Kaize Ding
, focuses on developing agentic systems that operate in complex open-world environments.
Research directions highlighted in the opening include
LLM-based agents

evaluation, safety, reliability, and robustness
of AI agents. The lab also welcomes candidates interested in

, including AI for healthcare, molecular and drug discovery, materials and chemical discovery, and environmental/spatiotemporal modeling.
This is a
funded postdoctoral position
for
one to two years
, with an anticipated start date of
October 1, 2026
. The position is based at
Northwestern University
in the United States.
Applicants should hold a
PhD
in Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field, and should have a strong background in AI/ML, especially in LLMs, LLM agents, multi-agent systems, or AI for Science. Strong collaboration and communication skills are also expected.
