The Multiple Sclerosis Imaging Laboratory at the Turku PET Centre, University of Turku, Finland, invites applications for Senior Researcher and Postdoctoral Researcher positions in the field of neuroimmunology and molecular imaging. These fixed-term positions are part of a flagship project focused on advanced imaging of neuroinflammation in multiple sclerosis (MS), with appointments starting in Autumn 2026 (negotiable) and continuing until 31 May 2029, with the possibility of extension. Our research integrates molecular imaging (including TSPO-PET), advanced MRI, fluid biomarkers, and clinical phenotyping to investigate mechanisms of disease progression and treatment response in MS. Projects will explore glial activation, innate immune responses, imaging biomarkers of disease activity and progression, treatment effects on neuroinflammation, and multimodal integration of imaging and biological data. The Senior Researcher will help lead the research team in designing and conducting MRI and PET studies in MS, and supervise PhD and Masters’ students in analyzing, reporting, and communicating findings. The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on data analysis, reporting, and supervision of junior researchers. Both roles offer the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary group with a strong emphasis on neuroinflammation, glial biology, and advanced imaging. Candidates must hold a PhD in medical science, biology, neuroscience, neuroimmunology, computational science, or a related field, completed by the application deadline. Experience with neuroimaging analysis, PET quantification, or clinical research is advantageous. Excellent English language skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team are essential.
