Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage for Mining Impacts Research

Flinders University is recruiting an ARC Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Archaeology for the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Archaeology in the Resources Sector. This postdoctoral role sits within the Best Practice Frameworks Research Program and focuses on the Drilling, Blasting and Impacts project. The fellowship is based at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, and is a four-year, full-time appointment at Academic Level B. The advertised salary is AU$115,871–AU$137,122 per annum plus 17% superannuation . The role includes relocation and visa support. The research is strongly interdisciplinary and industry-engaged, examining how mining activities such as drilling and blasting affect archaeological sites and culturally significant places. The successful candidate will work with industry partners, Traditional Owners, and researchers to improve cultural heritage assessment, protection, and management in active mining landscapes. Applicants should hold a PhD in Archaeology or a closely related discipline . The post is aimed at an emerging researcher with peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations, plus experience or interest in industry-engaged research. Strong collaboration skills, the ability to work across disciplines, and willingness to undertake extended remote fieldwork are important.
