The University of Amsterdam is offering three fully funded PhD positions in Generative Information Retrieval (GenIR) within the Faculty of Science, Informatics Institute (IRLab). The research focus is on developing end-to-end generative models to replace traditional information retrieval pipelines, with applications in out-of-distribution, low-resource, and dynamic settings. Successful candidates will conduct research, publish in top venues, contribute to teaching and mentoring, and join a vibrant, international research team at UvA Science Park. The positions are supervised by Professor Maarten de Rijke, a leading expert in the field. The salary ranges from €3,059 to €3,881 per month plus benefits. Applicants should have a strong background in computer science, AI, or related areas, and experience with generative models or deep learning is highly desirable.
