The Department of Botany at the Faculty of Biology/Chemistry, Universität Osnabrück, Germany, is recruiting a Research Assistant (m/f/d) for a three-year position starting March 1, 2026. This role is part of the DFG Research Unit 'Innovation and Coevolution in sexual reproduction of plants' (ICIPS, FOR 5098), focusing on the molecular and morphological analyses of TGA transcription factors and their ROXY co-regulators. The research investigates redox processes in reproductive organ development and adaptation to stress factors in evolutionary model plants such as liverworts (Marchantia polymorpha, Riccia fluitans) and Arabidopsis thaliana. Key tasks include molecular and morphological analyses, use of model systems, expression, metabolome and redox sensor analyses, data evaluation, and publication writing. The position offers the opportunity to work towards a PhD outside working hours. Applicants should have a Master's degree in biology or related fields, motivation for genetic, cell biological, and evolutionary research, and experience with molecular/cell biological techniques. Ideal candidates will have experience with Arabidopsis or bryophyte models, bioinformatics, and strong English skills. The research unit provides an interactive environment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and access to advanced equipment at the iBiOs Imaging Center. The university supports career development, professional training, and family-friendly policies. Applications should be submitted by January 15, 2026, including the reference number (ERF) and two references, to Prof. Dr. Sabine Zachgo ([email protected]). The University of Osnabrück, Faculty of Biology/Chemistry, Department of Botany, is offering a Research Assistant position (m/f/d) focused on the role of TGA transcription factors and their ROXY co-regulators in plant reproduction. The project is part of the DFG Research Unit 'Innovation and Coevolution in sexual reproduction of plants' (ICIPS, FOR 5098) and investigates molecular and morphological analyses of TGA/ROXY functions, using model systems such as Marchantia polymorpha and Riccia fluitans, as well as Arabidopsis thaliana. The research will address reproductive organ development, adaptation to stress factors, and redox processes in evolutionary informative liverworts. Key tasks include molecular and morphological analyses, use of bryophyte model systems, expression and metabolome/redox sensor analyses, data evaluation, and publication writing. The position offers the opportunity to work towards a PhD outside working hours. Applicants must have a Master's degree in biology or related fields, with experience in molecular and/or cell biological techniques. Ideal candidates will have experience with Arabidopsis and/or bryophyte model organisms, knowledge of bioinformatics, a structured and team-oriented working style, and excellent English skills. The position is funded for three years at 65% (E 13 TV-L), with access to state-of-the-art equipment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development opportunities. Applications should be submitted as a single document, including the reference number and two references, by January 15, 2026, to Prof. Dr. Sabine Zachgo ([email protected]).
