PhD opportunity in Precision Psychiatry at the University of Barcelona (UB) and IDIBAPS. The newly funded FarmaPRED-OPTIM project is seeking highly motivated candidates for a PhD in Precision Medicine focused on improving prediction of antipsychotic treatment response in patients with first-episode psychosis. The research combines genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, and machine learning to build clinical prediction models. Core topics include polygenic risk scores (PRS) , transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) , epigenetic biomarkers, pharmacogenetic biomarkers, and predictive modelling. Ideal applicants come from Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Biostatistics, or Biomedical Sciences . Experience with R, Python, GWAS, PRS, machine learning, or omics analysis is highly valued. Exceptional candidates currently completing a Master's degree are also encouraged to apply. Funding support is available through competitive predoctoral fellowships and contracts such as PFIS (ISCIII) , FI Joan Oró (AGAUR) , PREDOCS-UB , FPU , and FI-STEP .
