The first scholarship emphasizes experimental research, including the application of advanced in-situ and ex-situ characterisation techniques to investigate solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation and evolution during battery charge/discharge cycles. The second scholarship is computationally focused, involving simulations of reaction interfaces and exploration of aqueous electrolyte components to understand their impact on battery performance. These scholarships are funded by the Standard Marsden Fund and provide full tuition coverage, an annual NZ$35,000 tax-free stipend for three years, student services fees, and international health insurance.
