The Connected, Automated, and Resilient Transportation (CART) Lab at Purdue University, led by Assistant Professor Yiheng Feng, is seeking one or two postdoctoral researchers to join ongoing projects in smart transportation systems. The research areas include cooperative driving automation, such as cooperative perception and multi-agent systems, V2X (vehicle-to-everything) applications development and deployment, and smart, integrated work zones. The CART Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for CAV (connected and automated vehicle) research, including autonomous vehicle testing platforms, high-fidelity simulation, and advanced computing resources. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in engineering or related fields, specifically Civil/Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science and Engineering. Strong programming and mathematical skills are required, along with experience in developing large-scale projects. The lab is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in machine learning, computer vision, multi-sensor fusion, simulation, and hands-on field deployment of V2X applications and standards. Prof. Yiheng Feng is an assistant professor at Purdue's Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering and assistant director of the Center for Road Safety. This well-funded opportunity provides hands-on and theoretical research experience related to connected and automated vehicles (CAV) and smart transportation infrastructure. The CART lab, led by Assistant Professor Yiheng Feng, focuses on developing new methodologies and applications in CAV, smart transportation infrastructure, smart mobility, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in transportation systems.
