American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellowships

American Cancer Society Research is sharing its Postdoctoral Fellowships in cancer research. These fellowships are designed to support new investigators in research training programs and help position them for independent careers in cancer research.

Research focus: cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and survivorship, with a strong emphasis on broadening the applicant’s research training and experience.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must be working at a US academic institution or eligible non-profit in a postdoctoral (non-faculty, non-staff scientist) role. They must be within three years of receiving a terminal doctoral degree and/or have completed three or fewer years of postdoctoral training at the time of application. A committed mentor/position is required before applying.

Funding: awards run for up to 3 years with progressive annual stipends of $66,000, $68,000, and $70,000. Fellows also receive $4,000 per year to help defray health insurance, workshop costs, and scientific meeting presentation expenses.

Application cycle: standard due dates are June 1 and December 1 each year. The post specifically highlights the next application deadline as June 1, 2026.
