This PhD opportunity focuses on consumer-centric circular logistics in an urban context, with the aim of developing models for more responsive, efficient, and sustainable logistics systems. The doctoral researcher will prepare and defend a PhD thesis, develop the research plan and methods with the supervisor, carry out research to a high standard, present findings at scientific conferences, and aim to publish in the scientific literature. Applicants should have excellent academic results, experience in transportation or supply chains, and preferably experience with optimisation, simulation, and coding/programming skills such as Python. Strong English skills are required. The university also looks for research qualities aligned with its policies, along with integrity, creativity, cooperation, and the ability to work well in a team.
The scholarship is offered for one year initially and can be renewed for up to three additional years after a positive evaluation. The post is full-time (100%), with a planned start date of 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible after that date. Funding includes the monthly doctoral scholarship amount plus extra benefits such as ecocheques, an internet-connectivity allowance, and either a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
