Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH)

PhD studentship opportunity in Developing a Framework for a National Collection of Scottish Video Game Heritage, offered with support from the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH). This is a fully funded PhD starting in October 2026.

The project is based at University of Abertay Dundee and involves collaboration with the University of Glasgow and National Museums Scotland. The research sits at the intersection of video game heritage, museum work, and the arts and humanities, with strong relevance to History, Art History, Ancient History, Classics, Archaeology, Media and Communications, Digital Media, and Information Studies.

Applicants should hold a degree in a relevant arts and humanities discipline and should ideally have, or expect to receive, a Masters-level qualification in a related subject. Equivalent professional experience in a relevant setting may also be considered.
