About this position
Co-sponsored doctoral grants offered by the Government of France-Ministry of Defence in collaboration with CNRS support doctoral research in France on topics of interest to the defence sector.
The programme funds a full three-year PhD and is designed for projects spanning areas such as engineering, materials science, information technology and environmental sciences. The research is carried out in a laboratory in France, and the emphasis is on doctoral theses that are beneficial to defence-related applications.
This is a co-funded doctoral scheme rather than a standalone project advertisement, so the exact thesis topic is proposed by the supervisor and laboratory through the ixarm portal before the student submits an individual application. The scheme is intended for candidates starting a PhD, with research embedded in the French laboratory environment and linked to the national research organisation CNRS and the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA/AID).
Applicants are expected to join an existing research setting in France and contribute to a topic selected under the programme’s defence-oriented framework.
