About this position
King's Business School at King's College London invites applications for funded, full-time PhD Research Studentships in Management Studies, with start date in October 2027.
The studentships are open to candidates who qualify as Home or International for fees purposes and who can demonstrate strong academic potential and interest in doctoral research. Applicants are encouraged to work across the School’s broad research expertise, including Human Resource Management, Marketing, Public Services, Management & Organisations, Strategy, International Management, and Entrepreneurship.
A key requirement is that applicants must already have supervisory support before applying. You should contact potential supervisors in advance, discuss your proposed topic, and ensure a supervisor has indicated willingness to supervise your project. The award title will be in your relevant subject area, such as PhD in Economics or PhD in Marketing, depending on the academic department and project alignment.
Funding is substantial and highly competitive. Studentships cover tuition fees for three years, the pending submission status fee, and a stipend of approximately £23,805 per annum at the 2026-27 rate, paid for four years, with annual inflationary increases. The package also includes a training and conference grant and additional paid teaching and research opportunities.
The admissions portal opens on 20 October 2026 and closes on 1 December 2026 at 11:59pm. Decisions are expected in early 2027. Applicants are strongly encouraged to also seek funding from other sources because not all admitted doctoral candidates receive a King's Business School studentship. Other doctoral funding routes mentioned include the LISS-DTP and King's-China Scholarship Council options.
If you are interested in a PhD in Management at a leading research-intensive university in London, this studentship offers access to an active business school environment, supervision support, and a structured funding package for doctoral training.
