About this position

SRLF Research Fellowships are research grants offered by the Société de Réanimation de Langue Française (SRLF), the French professional association for intensive care medicine and resuscitation.

The scheme supports independent research projects in intensive care medicine, with funding available for several different categories. The largest awards are aimed at clinical projects and projects in respiratory medicine, while other grants are also available depending on the topic and professional profile. The call is therefore designed to support research activity across the intensive care environment rather than a single predefined project.

The fellowship framework includes support for projects linked to specific clinical themes and professional backgrounds, and it also mentions a separate category for members working with international collaboration or mobility. The scheme is closely tied to the SRLF network and its research community, and projects are expected to be supervised by an experienced SRLF member.

This is a scholarship-style funding opportunity within the intensive care medicine field, intended to help researchers and clinicians carry out project-based work at their home institution.

Funding details

Research grants up to €30,000 for clinical and respiratory medicine projects; other grants of €20,000, €15,000, or €10,000 depending on topic and profession. Also includes €15,000 grants for the second year of a Master’s degree, research abroad, and hosting a colleague from another country.

What's required

Applicants must be doctors or members of the paramedical profession (such as nurses or physiotherapists) working in an intensive care unit. They must have been members of SRLF for at least 12 months and have paid their membership fees at the time of application. The project must relate to intensive care medicine, and some schemes are restricted to specific topics (such as respiratory disease, metabolic disorders, or kidney diseases) or professions (such as physiotherapists only). The project mentor must have been an SRLF member for at least 5 consecutive years. Applicants of all nationalities may apply. All documents must be in French.

How to apply

Apply online through the ‘Bourses’ section of your personal SRLF member account. Upload all required documents in French. For round 2026, applications open on 2026-02-18 and close on 2026-03-17 at 09:00; the jury decision will be announced in May 2026.
