About this position
Tavira Municipality offers a Higher Education Scholarship for students living in Tavira who are studying at a higher education institution. The award is provided by the local authority and is intended to support students from the municipality across any field of study.
The scholarship is available in several forms, including a means-tested grant for lower-income households, a top-up grant for students already receiving a smaller award, a merit-based grant for strong academic performance, and a special grant for students with a disability of 60% or higher. Each grant is worth the same annual amount and is paid as a single lump sum.
This municipal funding scheme is designed for students who are residents of Tavira and are pursuing eligible short-duration higher education studies at Bachelor’s or Master’s level. It is a local student-support programme rather than a research project, and it offers financial assistance to help students continue their studies in Portugal or abroad where the scheme allows.
