About this position

DARES Group at Tampere University is recruiting 3 PhD positions in federated learning, trustworthy AI, resilient control, optimization, and cybersecurity for cyber-physical systems.

The research is hosted in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (ENS) and is connected to ongoing national and EU projects with applications in intelligent wind energy systems, energy-flexible process industries, and smart microgrids. The DARES group focuses on dependability, safety, security, reliability, availability, and resilience in complex cyber-physical(-social) environments.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with backgrounds in control systems, machine learning, optimization, cybersecurity, automation, cyber-physical systems, and energy systems. The post offers a fully funded PhD position for 3 years, with a competitive gross salary starting at €2,700–3,000/month, plus international collaboration, research visits, and strong academic/industrial links.
