About this position
This postdoctoral opportunity is part of the ERC Advanced Grant project Dynamics on and of Random Graphs (Dynamics.oRG) led by Remco van der Hofstad at Eindhoven University of Technology. The project focuses on the mathematics of phase transitions for stochastic processes evolving on random graphs, asking how randomness in the network environment can alter critical behaviour.
The successful researchers will join a dedicated team of PhD students, postdocs, and collaborators working on challenging questions at the frontiers of mathematics. The research theme connects random graph theory with stochastic dynamics, with applications and motivations including the spread of infections and consensus formation on networks. The work is both collaborative and independent: you will contribute to the shared project goals while also developing your own research direction within the ERC programme.
The position sits in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at TU/e, an internationally connected research environment with strong links to fundamental and applied innovation. The broader setting includes a large mathematical community and an interdisciplinary atmosphere on the university’s Eindhoven campus.
