About this position

Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking three postdoctoral researchers for the ERC Advanced Grant project Dynamics on and of Random Graphs (Dynamics.oRG), led by Prof. Dr. Remco van der Hofstad in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The project investigates phase transitions in stochastic processes evolving on random graphs. These processes include models of infection spreading and consensus formation. The central mathematical challenge is to understand the interaction between the randomness of the graph environment and the randomness of the processes taking place on it, including whether the environment changes the nature of phase transitions and under which conditions.

Postdoctoral researchers will work within an international and collaborative team of PhD students, postdocs, and key collaborators. Alongside developing an individual research project, they will contribute to shared problems in probability, random graph theory, statistical mechanics, and network theory, as well as to the broader societal impact of mathematical research on networks.

The position is based in the department's large academic community, which includes scientific staff, PhD and EngD candidates, and students, with connections to global universities and the technology-focused Brainport Eindhoven region.
