About this position

The University of Luxembourg, a leading international research university, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Signal Processing and Communications (SIGCOM) research group at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). SIGCOM, led by Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas, is renowned for its work in wireless and satellite communications, focusing on the design and analysis of future 6G networks and their applications in digital ecosystems.

The group’s research spans network security, information assurance, cloud computing, cryptography, vehicular networks, and ICT services, with a strong emphasis on experimental and industry-driven innovation. The successful candidate will contribute to AI-related projects at the intersection of advanced AI techniques—such as Foundation Models, Large Language Models, Generative AI, Federated and Decentralized Learning, Neurosymbolic and Hybrid AI, and Self-Supervised Learning—and their integration into wireless communications and edge computing systems.

Responsibilities include developing adaptive, AI-driven embedded algorithms for real-time analytics in IoT and wireless systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate AI into telecommunication architectures, optimizing AI implementations on edge platforms (e.g., Jetson, Raspberry Pi, FPGA), and disseminating research through publications and outreach. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong publication record in applied AI. Required expertise includes time-series analytics, IoT, semantic communication, edge intelligence, deep learning, federated learning, and proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks.

Experience with edge AI hardware, industrial collaborations, and international research is advantageous. The position offers a fixed-term contract of 24 months, a competitive gross annual salary of EUR 85,176, and access to state-of-the-art facilities in a dynamic, international environment.
