About this position
The PhD@Tec21 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Cofund doctoral programme offers seven full-time doctoral positions in mechanical engineering and chemical engineering at Université Grenoble Alpes in Grenoble, France.
The programme trains researchers in interdisciplinary areas including environmental engineering, bioengineering, sustainable energy, transportation, ecotechnology and cleantech. Research projects span geomechanics, fluid mechanics, biophysics, rheophysics, materials behavior and multiphysics modeling, supported by advanced experimental and computational facilities.
Available projects include X-ray tomography of wood densification; laboratory characterization of seismic ruptures; anomalous transport in active bio-gels; multiphysics simulation of low-Prandtl-number jets; biomimetic blood clots under flow; drying dynamics from soft cells to solid cellular matter; and multiscale modeling of swelling clays from nanoscale water and ion interactions to thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior.
Doctoral researchers will receive interdisciplinary supervision and training through the Laboratoire d’Excellence Tec21 and the wider PhD@Tec21 network. The research environment includes scientific equipment, computing resources, library and shared laboratory facilities, doctoral courses and workshops, networking activities, and the opportunity for an academic or industrial secondment during the second year. The UGA International Student Office also provides support with accommodation and administrative matters.
The programme combines mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, biomedical engineering, materials science and environmental research across academic and inter-sectoral settings.
