Job position

Postdoctoral Researcher

Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)

Synthesis and characterization of Se nanoparticles

- Foliar and soil application of nanoparticles with and without microorganisms in different crops
- Establishment and maintenance of crops
- Analysis of different physiological parameters
- Direct and indirect speciation of Se in different plant parts using various analytical techniques, including synchrotron radiation
- Development of functional foods derived from crops
- Attendance at project meetings
- Writing of new derived project proposals
- Supervision of students involved in the project
- Publication of results in scientific journals and presentations at conferences.

Compulsory: PhD degree in Chemistry

Knowledge of Word, Excel and/or Origin, ChemDraw, other software related to statistics (Statgraphics), and spectroscopic and chromatographic characterizations (MassLynx and LabSolutions). Reference management software. Programming in MATLAB.

English and Catalan

Desired:

Experience in analytical chemistry laboratories and in chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, specifically. Nanoparticle synthesis. Experience in crop cultivation and analysis of different plant parameters. Experience in synchrotron-based techniques. Participation in the management and implementation of European projects. Scientific publications/presentations in any field related to chemistry and biology. Teaching experience in the field of chemistry.

- Academic record – 25 points
PhD in Chemistry or equivalent, with a Doctoral Thesis based on Analytical Chemistry: 20 points; Generic PhD: 5 points

- Scientific publications – 5 points:

related to the topic 5; unrelated 2

- Languages – maximum 5 points

English C: 4; English B2: 3; English B1: 2
Catalan: 1 point

- Work experience – maximum 40 points
Research laboratory experience in analytical chemistry within the project topic, more than 4 years: 20 points; less than 4 years: 10 points; in other topics: 5 points
Experience with ICP-MS, HPLC-MS: 10 points

Experience with synchrotron techniques: 10 points

- Other requirements – 30 points
Experience in the management and implementation of European projects: 10 points
Teaching experience/supervision of students in the field of chemistry: 10 points
Experience in programming with Matlab: 10 points

Selection process

Minimum grade to pass the selection process: 85
