About this position

?? PhD position in the field of the energy transition! My colleagues from the High-voltage group, within the Faculty of EEMCS at TU Delft have an open PhD position on the derating of Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). Using natural-origin gases is within the scope of the ongoing energy transition and in line with the preventive measures related to global warming. GISs are known for their excellent insulation capabilities making them suitable for dense-populated and not-easily accessible areas. They are also known for generating nanosecond-transient voltage waveforms; therefore, it is very challenging to investigate the impact of natural-origin gases on GIS performance in electrical power systems. Is your research interest in this field? Are you ready to contribute to the ongoing energy transition? Do you wish to work in the largest university High-voltage lab in Europe with colleagues from Dutch industries and academia who possess excellent experience in the field of GIS? Apply for this position! For more information, feel free to contact Dr Dennis van der Born.…more
