About this position
This postdoctoral fellowship is based at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s National Center for Toxicological Research in Jefferson, Arkansas, within a multidisciplinary Division of Biochemical Toxicology research program. The project focuses on the mechanistic basis of cannabidiol (CBD)-induced male reproductive toxicity in mice and supports FDA’s regulatory evaluation of CBD-containing products.
The fellow will work primarily with RNA sequencing data, using bioinformatics workflows to identify differential gene expression patterns and pathway enrichment results. The project also includes collaboration on LC-MS/MS-based internal dosimetry and spatial distribution analyses using MALDI imaging mass spectrometry.
In addition to the core data analysis work, the fellow will be part of a multidisciplinary environment that brings together biologists, analytical chemists, pathologists, biostatisticians, and regulatory scientists from CDER. The training environment emphasizes mechanistic toxicology, in-vivo study design, endpoint integration, and the translation of experimental results into regulatory science contexts.
The fellowship is embedded in FDA research aimed at understanding how CBD affects male reproductive biology and how these findings inform regulatory decisions.
