Fully Funded PhD and Postdoc Positions in Wireless Communication, Edge Intelligence, and Intelligent Transportation Systems at University College Cork University College Cork in Ireland

University College Cork is recruiting two fully funded PhD students and one Postdoctoral Researcher for the SHIELD project, funded by the Frontiers for the Future Programme from Research Ireland. The positions are based in the School of Computer Science & IT and focus on cutting-edge research at the intersection of wireless communication, edge intelligence, and intelligent transportation systems. Research topics include wireless networks and communications, machine learning, computer vision, intelligent sensing, localization, and signal processing.

The PhD positions are fully funded for four years, offering a tax-free stipend of €25,000 per annum and tuition contribution. Non-EU candidates may need to apply for a tuition fee waiver. The postdoc position is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 24 months (with possible extension up to 48 months), with a salary range of €46,306 - €52,863 per annum. The project is led by Assistant Professor Md Noor-A-Rahim, who is affiliated with University College Cork and the University of South Australia.

Applicants should have a strong background and interest in wireless networks, machine learning, computer vision, intelligent transportation systems, intelligent sensing, and signal processing. A strong publication record and programming competency are required. PhD candidates must hold a Master's degree and meet the English language requirements of University College Cork. Postdoc candidates should have a recent PhD (or be close to completion) with expertise in Wireless Networks and AI/ML and a strong publication record.
