About this position
Fully funded PhD opportunity in AI, Earth Observation, and Environmental Data Science at the HydroTerra Lab, University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The project is led by Dr. Sara Sadri, Canada Research Chair in Remote Sensing and Water Security, and is supported by NSERC.

The post also values strong quantitative reasoning, independent problem-solving, research and scientific-writing experience, and the ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative projects. Preferred experience includes cloud-based geospatial computing, large Earth-observation or environmental datasets, deep learning, time-series analysis, spatial statistics, data fusion, environmental forecasting, reproducible workflows, peer-reviewed publications, a strong MSc thesis, or a substantial research-software portfolio. Candidates should also be able to meet Canadian residency/study-permit and relocation requirements in time.
