About this position

TagTIC is recruiting for 11 fully funded PhD positions within a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network focused on how infections contribute to gastrointestinal cancers and how this knowledge can be translated into new therapeutic strategies.

The projects span a wide range of research areas, including cancer biology, microbiology, immunology, organoids, multi-omics, drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, AI, digital pathology, and precision medicine. The network brings together academic and industrial partners across Europe, with host institutions including the University of Salzburg, Helmholtz Munich, University of Gdansk, Aarhus University, Sapienza Università di Roma, Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, and TissueGnostics GmbH.

Successful candidates will benefit from international secondments, academic and industry mentorship, access to cutting-edge technologies and facilities, excellent scientific and transferable-skills training, competitive MSCA working conditions, and opportunities for Joint/Double PhD degrees.

The post indicates a project start in January 2027. The announcement is aimed at talented MSc graduates and early-career researchers interested in doctoral research in cancer and infection-related biomedical sciences.

To apply, visit the TagTIC website, review the individual project pages, and follow the application instructions provided there.
