PhD opportunity in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, and Behavioural Biology at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, United Kingdom). This project, supervised by Dr W Schafer, focuses on neuropeptide networks and how “wireless” neuronal communication shapes behaviour. The first part uses C. elegans to study neuropeptide signaling in feeding circuits, including how peptides and receptors related to human hypothalamic appetite pathways regulate feeding and starva...

About this position

Fully funded PhD Alert! We have a fully-funded PhD project studying the neurobiology of motivation in mice, which takes advantage of a mouse's natural instinct to predate crickets. This exciting project will involve learning behaviour, in vivo electrophysiology and a whole lot more. Co-supervised my myself and the brilliant Ana González Rueda and Gareth Arnott in Queen's University Belfast. Details in the link below. We're happy to answer any questions from prospective candidates.
