I’m excited to share a fully funded PhD opportunity at the School of Chemical Engineering UQ , in collaboration with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Green Electrochemical Transformation of Carbon Dioxide (GETCO2) .
With rising CO2 levels, developing innovative methods to capture carbon directly from the air has never been more urgent. ??
The project focuses on developing polymer–zeolite composite membranes for direct air capture (DAC) of CO2 - tackling one of today’s most pressing climate challenges. Using powerful multiscale approaches, the student will design and model new membranes from first principles, tailoring interfacial properties to achieve both high selectivity and permeability.
I’m looking for candidates with a strong background in:
?? Chemical engineering, materials science, and/or computational modelling
?? Molecular simulation (molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo)
?? Process modelling with MATLAB and/or Python
This is a fantastic chance to be part of impactful research at the forefront of climate innovation.
