About this position

The Giamas Lab at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University is inviting applications for PhD and postdoctoral positions in the field of cancer research, with a focus on cancer cell signalling and precision oncology. The lab, led by Professor Georgios Giamas, is dedicated to advancing precision oncology through innovative research on the identification, characterisation, and therapeutic targeting of proteins and genes critical to cancer progression. Research areas include molecular and cellular biology, spatial -omics, bioinformatics, and the development of targeted therapies for cancer.

PhD studentships are open to UK/European applicants who hold or are on track to complete an MSc (or equivalent) in a relevant life sciences discipline by summer 2026. Postdoctoral positions are available for international applicants with a strong background in cancer biology and expertise in spatial -omics, cell/molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics. The lab offers a stimulating, interdisciplinary research environment, mentorship for career development, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and the opportunity to publish high-impact work.

The Giamas Lab integrates cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches with clinically validated models, bridging fundamental biological insights to transformative clinical applications. Research topics include tumorigenesis, metastasis, therapeutic resistance, and the discovery of novel biomarkers for early diagnosis and targeted therapies. The lab's mission is to improve patient outcomes and advance global oncology research through precision medicine.

Interested candidates should submit a detailed CV, a cover letter specifying the position and outlining relevant experience and research interests, and contact information for two academic referees. Applications should be emailed to Prof. Georgios Giamas at [email protected] by 31st May 2026.
