The advertised project, Functional Ecology of Endemic Plant Species of the South-Eastern Alps, focuses on the South-Eastern Alps and the Dolomites, one of Europe’s major biodiversity hotspots. The research aims to understand the ecological and evolutionary mechanisms behind plant endemism by comparing endemic Alpine species with their more widespread relatives.

The project combines mountain fieldwork in the South-Eastern Alps, plant functional trait measurements in the field, laboratory, and herbarium collections, and analysis of ecological, climatic, genetic, and biogeographical data.
