About this position
Green Space, Young People, and Climate Justice is an interdisciplinary PhD project exploring how access to green space can support climate adaptation, climate justice and young people’s wellbeing through nature-based solutions.
The research brings together youth engagement, environmental research and climate adaptation to investigate how green spaces can be made more accessible and responsive to the needs of young people. It will consider the relationships among nature, social equity, adaptation and wellbeing, with a focus on producing knowledge relevant to climate-just environmental practice.
The project is being recruited by Harriet Thew, Cat Scott and Susanne Lorenz through the Yorkshire Environmental Sciences Doctoral Training Network. The PhD is scheduled to start in autumn 2027 and offers an interdisciplinary research environment focused on climate adaptation, green spaces and nature-based solutions.
