PhD in Physics: Defect States and Interfaces in 2D and 3D Metal Halide Perovskites University of Bologna in Italy

PhD opportunity in Physics at the University of Bologna (UNIBO), Italy, for a fully funded 3-year project on understanding defect states and interfaces in 2D and 3D metal halide perovskites.

The research focuses on charge photogeneration and transport, trap states, defect states, and the role of defects in applications such as photovoltaic solar cells, photodetectors, and radiation detectors. The project is highly interdisciplinary and experimental, sitting at the interface of solid-state physics, semiconductor physics, and chemistry.

Applicants with backgrounds in Physics (especially condensed matter), Chemistry, or Materials Science are encouraged to apply. The PhD programme includes a 6-month research period abroad.
