PhD Position in Immunometabolism, Macrophages, Extracellular Vesicles and microRNAs at University of Zurich University of Zurich in Switzerland

PhD position in immunometabolism at the University of Zurich / University Hospital Zurich in the research group of Theresa Rohm (SNSF Professor). The project sits at the interface of metabolic disease, inflammation, macrophages, extracellular vesicles (EVs), microRNAs, and RNA biology, with a strong focus on obesity and type 2 diabetes.

The successful candidate will join the Life Science Zurich Graduate School (PhD programs: BioMed and MIM) and work on a recently funded SNSF Starting Grant project aimed at decoding how macrophage-derived EVs regulate metabolism and inflammation. The work combines in vivo and in vitro models, obesity mouse models, cell culture, single-cell sequencing, small RNA sequencing, genomics, and RNA biology.

Ideal applicants have an MSc in biology, biomedicine, or a related field, and a strong interest in metabolism, immunology, and RNA biology. Experience with cell culture and/or in vivo work is a plus.
