About this position
The University of Hong Kong is inviting applications for Post-doctoral Fellow positions in peptide chemistry and bioconjugation within the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.
This opportunity is centered on peptide therapeutics, peptide conjugates, cyclic peptides, and related next-generation peptide-based drug modalities. The successful candidate will design, synthesize, and chemically modify biomolecules; operate peptide synthesis, purification, characterization, and analytical platforms; and help establish reproducible workflows for peptide production, conjugation, quality control, and characterization. The role also involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams working on peptide- and antibody-based drug development.
Eligibility highlights: a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Peptide Chemistry, or a closely related field; proven ability to independently run peptide synthesis instruments; hands-on experience in peptide synthesis and bioconjugation; and strong communication and teamwork skills. Preference is given to applicants with industry experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology/peptide-bioconjugation settings and/or experience in antibody conjugation, protein engineering, or antibody-drug conjugate development.
Funding and appointment: the post is full-time and temporary for 1-3 years, with possible renewal depending on performance and funding availability. The university states that a highly competitive salary will be offered, along with annual leave, medical benefits, and access to campus facilities.
Application window: applications are reviewed from 2026-10-07 and continue until 2026-12-31, or until the positions are filled. Applicants must apply online via the HKU Careers site and upload an up-to-date CV.
