About this position

Postdoc opportunity in advanced antenna architectures for drone communications at Aalborg University, Department of Electronic Systems.

The project focuses on developing compact, directional, and beam-steerable antenna solutions for improving the reliability of UAV/drone communication links under realistic flight conditions. The work covers the full research chain: antenna concept development, simulation, fabrication, measurement, and field testing on flying platforms.

You will join the Antennas, Propagation and Millimetre-Wave Systems section and work closely with the Antennas group at Aalborg University. The group is led by Professor Gert F. Pedersen and Professor Shuai Zhang, together with Assistant Professor Rocio Rodriguez Cano. The project is carried out in collaboration with industrial partners Sky-Watch and PRIDANA.

Strong experience with full-wave simulation (FDTD, FEM, or MoM), tools such as CST Studio Suite or Ansys HFSS, MATLAB or Python, and antenna measurements in near-field/far-field environments is expected.
