About this position
A postdoc position is available in the Grønbæk Group at the Biotech Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC), University of Copenhagen, in collaboration with Rigshospitalet and Professor George Vassiliou at the University of Cambridge.
The project, “Deciphering the Mechanistic Links Between Obesity, Clonal Haematopoiesis and Myeloid Neoplasms”, sits in the field of translational haematology and focuses on the biology of early myeloid disease, clonal haematopoiesis, obesity, bone marrow adipose tissue, and myeloid neoplasms. The work combines patient material from clinical trials with multi-omics and mechanistic analyses, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and DNA methylation studies.
The successful candidate will process live frozen human bone marrow/BMAT and blood samples, perform molecular and cellular lab work, coordinate analyses with collaborating laboratories, help design sub-studies, and contribute to grant and manuscript writing. The role also includes presenting results at meetings, training new lab members, and working closely with both scientists and clinicians.
This is a 2-year fixed-term position starting 1 February 2027. The post is based at the Bartholin Institute at Rigshospitalet, located at Copenhagen Biocentre/BRIC in Copenhagen, Denmark. Salary starts at 39,900 DKK per month plus pension contributions, with possible supplement depending on qualifications.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Life Sciences, preferably with a focus on haematology, and have strong experience in normal and malignant haematopoiesis, molecular haematology techniques, primary human cells, cryopreserved patient material, and multi-omics data analysis. Excellent English, strong publication record, and collaborative skills are expected.
Application deadline: 15 November 2026, 23:59 CET.
How to apply: Submit a motivation letter, CV, certified/signed PhD and MSc certificates (or supervisor statement if the PhD is not completed), publication list, and preferably two recommendation letters or references through the online application portal.
