About this position
The Particle Theory Group at the University of Freiburg invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral appointment in Theoretical Particle Physics, with the possibility of a third year and a start date in October 2027 or earlier.
The postdoc will be associated with the particle theory group of S. Dittmaier, whose research focus is mainly electroweak interaction. The broader Freiburg particle theory environment also includes H. Rzehak (physics beyond the Standard Model) and the astro-particle theory group of S. Biondini, creating a wider theoretical setting spanning electroweak, Higgs, and beyond-Standard-Model topics.
The group is embedded in a local network of experimental and astroparticle research teams, including ATLAS, LHCb, and astroparticle physics collaborators, and is connected through the DFG-funded Research Training Group RTG 3186. This position offers the opportunity to work in an active high-energy theory environment closely linked to nearby experimental and astroparticle groups.
The opening is aimed at researchers who will contribute to ongoing theoretical work in particle physics at Freiburg, particularly in areas aligned with the group’s interests and collaborations.
