Postdoctoral Associate in Metabolism, Food Choice, and Computational Neuroscience Virginia Tech in United States

Virginia Tech’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC is advertising multiple Postdoctoral Associate positions in the DiFeliceantonio Lab and with collaborators in Roanoke, Virginia.

The lab, led by Alexandra DiFeliceantonio, studies the metabolic and neural mechanisms of food choice, with a strong emphasis on how modern ultra-processed foods influence physiology, brain function, and eating behavior. One opening focuses on understanding how diet affects the brain and future eating behavior; another is aimed at candidates with a more computational neuroscience background interested in experiments involving patients with implanted electrodes and neural/physiological monitoring.

Research in the lab is multidisciplinary and draws on neuroscience, nutrition, metabolism, psychology, and computational approaches. Duties include research conceptualization, assisting with experiment and grant proposal design, preparing publications and conference materials, analyzing data, and training/supervising research personnel.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in health science, neuroscience, psychology, nutrition, or a related field. The PhD must have been awarded within the last four years, with at least one year of eligibility remaining. A publication/presentation record is required, along with mentorship or teaching experience; multidisciplinary lab experience is preferred.
