About this position
Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian National University’s Research School of Earth Sciences, working on an ANU–BHP collaborative project.
The appointee will carry out research on salt melts in iron oxide copper-gold systems, combining experimental and analytical approaches. The position is research-intensive and includes primary responsibility for laboratory and project work, with some scope to assist with research student supervision where relevant.
The role sits within a leading Australian Earth sciences environment. At the Research School of Earth Sciences, the successful candidate will join a group that combines experimental, analytical, and field-based approaches to understand Earth processes and resource development. The appointee will work closely with ANU researchers, technical staff, and BHP collaborators, contributing to the intellectual and laboratory life of the School.
The project is supervised by Dr Michael Anenburg. The advertised research focus includes experimental petrology and mineralogical microanalysis, and the role is framed around investigating melt behavior and related processes in ore-bearing systems.
The broader college environment is the ANU College of Science and Medicine, which supports research across multiple scientific disciplines and provides access to extensive networks and world-class facilities.
