About this position
Johns Hopkins University is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Whiting School of Engineering in Baltimore, United States. The project investigates the structure and dynamics of confined fluids using neutron and X-ray scattering.
The research will advance understanding of classical and quantum fluids by examining how atomic and molecular dynamics, dimensionality, and confinement determine macroscopic properties. Complementary methods may include thermodynamic measurements, electron microscopy, and broadband dielectric spectroscopy.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience with scattering techniques is expected, with neutron and X-ray scattering especially desirable. Experience in light scattering or other materials characterization methods may also be considered. Additional qualifications include knowledge of condensed matter or materials physics, data-analysis proficiency with MantidPlot, Igor Pro, or similar software, strong communication skills, collaborative and independent working ability, and a demonstrated publication and presentation record.
The salary range is $63,480–$74,424, along with Johns Hopkins total rewards benefits. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. Interested candidates should apply through Interfolio and may contact Dr. Souleymane Diallo with questions.
