About this position
Cleveland Clinic is recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow for the Ming Hu Lab in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The fellow will work in the Genomic Sciences and Systems Biology Research Department under the supervision of Principal Investigator Ming Hu.
The NIH-funded research program focuses on bioinformatics and computational biology, single-cell genomics, 3D genome organization, chromatin spatial architecture, gene regulation, statistical genomics, multi-omics, and disease mechanisms. Projects involve developing statistical and computational methods for high-dimensional genomics data, integrating multi-omics and functional genomics datasets, and studying chromatin organization at single-cell resolution.
Applicants must hold a PhD or MD/PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline. An MD with relevant laboratory experience may substitute for a PhD. Research or academic experience and scientific writing experience are required. Strong statistical modeling, programming, and communication skills are expected. Experience with R and Python or Perl in Unix/Linux environments, biology or genomics knowledge, and artificial intelligence or machine learning experience are preferred.
The position provides interdisciplinary collaboration and mentorship toward research independence. Responsibilities include independent project design, data generation and analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, computational method development, collaboration across disciplines, presentations, and grant-related activities.
Compensation follows the FY 2026 NIH NRSA Postdoctoral Salary Scale, ranging from $63,480 to $77,076 depending on postdoctoral experience, with benefits under standard Cleveland Clinic postdoctoral policies. Application review begins immediately, and the listed application deadline is November 25, 2026.
Applicants should apply through the Cleveland Clinic careers portal and email a cover letter, statement of research interests, CV, contact information for at least three references, a recent programming code sample, and representative publications or preprints to Ming Hu at [email protected].
