About this position

Applications are invited for 1-2 full-time Postdoctoral Fellow positions in Educational Measurement at the Centre for Research on Equality in Education (CREATE), Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Oslo, Norway. The appointments are for three to four years and are jointly affiliated with the Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO).

CREATE is an interdisciplinary Centre of Excellence funded by the Research Council of Norway with a mission to generate new knowledge on how to reduce inequalities in education. The center brings together expertise from education, psychology, sociology, economics, and genetics, alongside strong methodological strengths in educational measurement, psychometrics, econometrics, statistics, and biostatistics.

The postdoctoral fellows will be part of strand 3: Addressing key methodological challenges. This strand aims to develop new methods and statistical software tailored to CREATE’s research questions and data. CEMO provides a stimulating research environment focused on advanced measurement techniques, fundamental research, and applications that address key educational problems.

The successful candidate will carry out advanced methodological and psychometric research. Potential topics include instructional sensitivity and opportunity to learn in international large-scale assessments; estimation and inference for weighted generalized structural equation models with mixed continuous and discrete data in longitudinal settings; and research synthesis and meta-analytic methods, including applications to digital inequalities in education.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a strong quantitative background and an interest in educational assessment, psychometrics, longitudinal modeling, meta-analysis, and statistical software development. The position is based in Oslo, Norway.

Application deadline: 4 December 2026, 23:00 (Europe/Oslo). Apply via the Jobbnorge page linked in the posting.
