About this position
The Zenk Lab at EPFL’s NeuroNA Chair in Epigenomics of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (EpiGN) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for an interdisciplinary project at the intersection of single-cell genomics, machine learning, and developmental biology.
The position focuses on integrating and analysing multi-modal single-cell datasets, including scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, scCUT&Tag, Hi-C, and proteomics, to study trajectory inference, regulatory dynamics, and cell fate decisions. A central aim is to use machine learning to integrate these datasets and uncover principles of cellular state transitions.
The postdoc will work closely with other labs at EPFL, in a research environment that combines experimental biology with computational genomics and provides access to large single-cell multi-omics datasets. The role also includes collaboration, publication of results, networking in the field, and participation in the supervision of PhD and master students.

What's required
Strong background in computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, or a related quantitative field is required. Applicants should have experience with machine learning and/or statistical modeling applied to biological data, proven expertise in single-cell data analysis (scRNA-seq and/or scATAC-seq), interest or experience in multi-modal data integration and trajectory inference, and proficiency in Python and/or R. Interest in developmental and human biology is highly valued but not required, and a strong collaborative mindset with ability to work across disciplines is expected.
