About this position
The Damisah Lab at Yale University is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying human cognition. The research focuses on sleep, decision making, and learning and memory through an invasive human electrophysiology-centric approach.
Postdoctoral researchers will work with intracranial electroencephalography, single-unit and multi-unit neuron recordings, closed-loop recording and stimulation devices such as deep brain stimulation and responsive neurostimulation, and measures of the autonomic nervous system including heart rate and pupillometry. These techniques are combined with behavioral tasks, naturalistic behaviors, and computational modeling to address fundamental questions about cognition.
The lab brings together scientists from neuroscience, bioengineering, computer science, and psychology. Researchers benefit from access to patient populations and cutting-edge facilities, with opportunities for collaboration across neurology, psychiatry, psychology, and neuroscience at the Yale School of Medicine. The group emphasizes innovative, rigorous research alongside personal and professional development in a supportive environment.
