About this position

Inria Saclay-Île-de-France is advertising a postdoctoral position in Quantum Information Theory within the PHIQUS team, led by Marc-Olivier Renou. The group works at the interface of physics and computer science, with research on quantum networks, Bell nonlocality, entanglement, distributed quantum computing, and quantum cryptography.

The postdoctoral researcher will join a team of around 20 researchers and may collaborate with European partners in the QuantERA consortia, including projects on quantum network algorithms and optimization/mathematical physics for quantum physics. The position is based at the Inria Saclay centre in Palaiseau, France.

Several postdoctoral grants are available for a duration of 1-3 years; the contract information also states a 2-year duration for this offer. The remuneration is according to the candidate profile. Benefits include subsidized meals, partial public transport reimbursement, teleworking, flexible hours, leave, training, equipment access, and social security coverage.

Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field, and have an excellent publication record in quantum information theory or distributed computing. Helpful but non-mandatory experience includes Bell nonlocality, distributed computing, C* algebras, SDP relaxations of polynomial optimization problems, quantum correlation protocols, and/or experimental physics.

To apply, submit the application online through the Inria job portal. The posting notes that you must enter your email address to save the application, and applications sent through other channels are not guaranteed. For informal discussion about joining the group, contact Marc-Olivier Renou at [email protected].

Deadline: 2027-02-28.
