About this position
This postdoctoral research associate position at the New Jersey Institute of Technology focuses on fundamental studies of the ignition of reactive materials, with an experimental emphasis on processing and synthesis by emulsion-assisted milling (EAM).
The successful researcher will work in a grant-funded project centered on the design, setup, and execution of laboratory experiments, along with detailed analysis of synthesized materials and their ignition and combustion behavior. The work includes using advanced characterization and diagnostic approaches such as electron microscopy, thermal analysis, custom ignition methods, and combustion testing to investigate how processing conditions affect material behavior.
The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate closely with a faculty mentor and take an active role in supervising a Ph.D. student throughout the project. The role also includes rigorous data analysis, preparation of technical reports and manuscripts, and presenting results at national and international conferences.
This opportunity is based in NJIT’s research environment in Newark and is part of the university’s broader commitment to innovation, collaboration, and technological excellence.
