About this position
Karolinska Institutet is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Professor Thomas Helleday’s laboratory in the Department of Oncology-Pathology at Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab), Solna, Sweden.
The project investigates therapeutic applications of novel inhibitors in immunology, with emphasis on immuno-oncology and autoimmunity. The successful researcher will plan, perform, analyse, and interpret experiments; maintain rigorous electronic lab-notebook documentation; collaborate with national and international scientific networks; and work directly with industrial partners to advance translational drug-discovery projects targeting cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Applicants must hold a PhD in cancer biology, immunology, cell biology, or a closely related biomedical discipline, or complete the doctoral degree requirements by the employment decision. Strong experience with in vivo animal models, multicolour flow cytometry, flow-cytometry panel design, immunofluorescence microscopy, and interpretation of genomic or proteomic bioinformatic datasets is required. A strong publication record, including first- or second-author peer-reviewed papers, is expected. Experience in drug discovery, autoimmune disease models, DNA damage response research, grant writing, or supervision is advantageous. Excellent English communication, analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills are required.
The position is a two-year full-time temporary employment with possible extension and monthly salary under Karolinska Institutet’s collective agreements. Applications must include a PhD certificate, complete CV, publication list, and a one-page summary of current work. The deadline is 19 November 2026.
