About this position
Northeastern University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Saavedra Lab in the Department of Biology at the Boston, Massachusetts, campus.
The lab investigates the mechanisms that drive innate immune responses during host–pathogen interactions and examines how commensal microbes shape host immunity in health and disease. The research program integrates biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, and cell biology to study interactions between microorganisms and their hosts.
The successful researcher will become part of a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative team and will lead research projects tailored to their scientific interests. The role includes independently designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting experiments; presenting findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences; and contributing to the mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
The Saavedra Lab provides an environment focused on collaborative research, scientific communication, and professional development, with opportunities for career growth at a global R1 research university.
