About this position

Texas A&M AgriLife Research is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the “Hungry Minds: Neurophysiological Studies of Nutritional Quality and Cognitive Resources” project in College Station, Texas.

The collaborative study, conducted with USDA-ARS, uses a randomized controlled trial to investigate how dietary intake affects cognitive performance, emotion regulation, and behavioral economics outcomes. The research integrates behavioral economics and neurophysiological methods, including electroencephalography (EEG) and eye tracking, with dietary, anthropometric, biochemical, and clinical assessments.

The researcher will contribute to implementation of the human-subject study and support IRB protocols and regulatory compliance. Activities include participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, scheduling, intervention-compliance monitoring, and data collection at the Healthy Behavior Laboratory and Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture Mobile Health Assessment Centers. The role also involves cleaning, merging, documenting, and analyzing research data; developing online data-collection tools; and contributing to literature reviews, manuscripts, reports, presentations, grant proposals, and study-result summaries.

The position is situated within the Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture, whose multidisciplinary research connects agriculture, food systems, nutrition, precision nutrition, responsive agriculture, and healthy living. The institute aims to address diet-related chronic disease, nutrition security, health inequities, and sustainable agricultural systems through collaborative research and community impact.

The opportunity is designed for a researcher with interests spanning nutrition, neuroscience, public health, behavioral economics, cognitive science, and clinical research.
